Yes, you can use Lightroom Presets (.xmp) in Photoshop. To do so, follow these steps:
- Update Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to their latest versions.
- Locate the .XMP presets folder in Lightroom. For Windows, this is typically found at C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings. For macOS, it's usually in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/Settings/.
- Copy the .XMP presets you wish to use in Photoshop to the Adobe Camera Raw folder.
- Open Photoshop and load an image you want to edit.
- Launch Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) either by opening the image in the ACR workspace or using the 'Filter' > 'Camera Raw Filter' option.
- In ACR, click the 'Presets' icon (represented by horizontal lines and sliders).
- Choose a preset from the imported .XMP Lightroom presets.
- You can make additional adjustments to the image if needed. When you're satisfied with the changes, click 'Open' or 'Done'.
- Save your edited image in Photoshop using the 'File' > 'Save As' command.
By following these steps, you'll be able to use Lightroom Presets (.xmp) to edit your images in Photoshop.
Since Lightroom is mainly a photo-editing program, video tools are fairly limited, so our presets are not suitable for video editing.
Installing and using the presets is simple! After downloading, follow the included step-by-step instructions to import them into Lightroom. Once installed, you can apply them to your photos with just one click and make small adjustments if needed for the best results.
No subscription is needed for Lightroom Mobile (Free Version), but for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC (Desktop), you will need an Adobe subscription.
Lightroom presets come in different file formats depending on the version of Lightroom you are using:
- .XMP – Used for Lightroom Classic CC (2018 and newer) and Lightroom CC (Desktop).
- .DNG – Used for Lightroom Mobile (iOS & Android).
- .LRTEMPLATE – Used for older versions of Lightroom (Lightroom 4, 5, 6, and early CC). These can be converted to .XMP in newer versions of Lightroom.
